Hey Stanford Fans!
This past week has been one of the most exciting in the gym for SWG so far this pre-season. After having a few days off for Thanksgiving break, we came back into the gym ready to dominate! Most of the week was spent transitioning into full sets and landing on harder surfaces. We had our final practice together as a team before our intrasquad this coming Saturday at San Jose State.
On Friday we held another game day, where we went through all the line-ups on each event and it was definitely one of our most confident days in the gym yet. We started on bars, and our bar team continues to prove its resiliency each and every day. We were swinging big and hitting handstands left and right. Shoutout to Jenny for hitting a beautiful routine. Next we moved on to vault where the vaults were HUGE and each girl executed well and landed even better. We headed to floor and most of the girls in the floor lineup did all of their tumbling on the hard floor for the first time this year and they looked awesome! Shelley's full-in is getting more and more consistent and Allyse's ridiculously amazing floor routine is highlighted by choreography that literally makes our entire team's jaws drop. However, the highlight of the day was our unbeatable beam team. Weedge and Dani started us off strong and we only got better as we went on. Ashley was on fire all week and her impeccable routine on Friday was a true demonstration of her ability on this event.
Other exciting things in the week were Alyssa's double layouts off bars to a mat (yay landing) not to mention Allyse did Tkatchevs for the first time and she looks like an old pro, catching them again and again. It was a great week overall, and we are continuing to prove that we are going to be a force to reckon with this year. Every day someone is doing something new and exciting which makes our team so much fun to be a part of.
Even though finals week is underway, we are all eager for study breaks and are excited to get into the gym for voluntary practices the next couple of days!
Thanks for checking in. Go Card!!!
