When asked what I was thankful for this year, it was a simple answer: my family, better known as SWG. We're honestly just one unit of fun, energy, and awesomeness. And seriously, what can possibly get better than that? Ohhh I know...beam intrasquads in the hallway of the Ford Center (the building in which we practice)!!! Yup, we brought the beam into the hallway of Ford Center, where normal passersby walk through the building, and did a beam intrasquad. We definitely demonstrated our ability to dominate anytime and anywhere. Dani, once again, proved that she can start off the beam lineup like no other. She was rock solid and set a strong tone for everyone to follow. Everyone was incredibly aggressive and confident, which is something we've really been working on these past few weeks. The best part about this however, is that we still have six more girls just as prepared to be put in that beam lineup. Told you...awesomeness defined. : )
Vault is spectacular as well, with CJ, Alyssa, and Shelley all working on Yurchenko one-and-a-half twists while Blair is rocking out a Yurchenko half-on, pike-off. Nicole's bar work is just breathtaking and Purnell and T's full in's and double layouts respectively are HUGE! Fee and Shelley's new floor dance is amazing...get excited to see these new pieces of artwork. :) Essentially, everyone is just working incredibly hard, gaining confidence, and demonstrating unprecedented pizzazz. We're aiming to maintain all of this greatness as we head into dead week and finals week. It's going to be a challenge, but definitely one we are willing to take on and dominate because yes, we are that cool.
Well, that's an update! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We're so thankful for all of your support and can't wait to see you when season begins. Take care!
