Hey SWG fans!! It's time for another update!
So SWG has had another great week in and out of the gym. We had some awesome recruits stay with us this weekend so our days were full of fun activities.
On Friday we started off with a couple of great intrasquads on beam and bars. We had some new faces in the line-up, which is always great to see. Shout out to the frosh, including Jenny Peter for her amazing beam series and Alyssa Brown for her incredible swing on bars. These girls have really been working hard to make all the little improvements that are going to set us apart at the end of the year.
Speaking of the frosh, Stanford hosted its annual "Frosh Formal" dance on Friday as well. Our girls got all dressed up and they looked beautiful!! It sure brought back memories for some of my fellow classmates and I when we ran into the girls on their way to the dance. Time sure flies when you're having fun!
On Saturday we showed the recruits as much of our campus as possible by holding a scavenger hunt. We split up into two teams and went around campus taking pictures of various things and with various people. Then the recruits and their parents went off on a special tour of the athletic facilities meeting up with us again for lunch and a round of sand volleyball. After that we took them to the football game against USC, which started out great with a Stanford touchdown within the first five minutes! It's really fun to have alumni, family, and friends back on the Farm and to see our campus come alive around game time.
With such great effort week after week, I just can't wait to see what's in store for us this season. It's going to be amazing. Stay tuned to hear about another great week for SWG both in and out of the gym!!
