Hey Stanford fans!

All I can say right now is wow. This past weekend was such an awesome first meet experience for SWG. We competed head to head with Georgia in the huge Stegeman Coliseum in Athens. With 10,000 crazy gymnastics fans cheering, and a few first meet jitters; we worked to channel our excitement and energy into performing like we all know we can. Coming off of a tough conditioning week, a lot of us were feeling the effects, but it seemed to have little effect on everyone's performances.

Starting on bars, everyone attacked the event and seemed super calm. Weedge and CJ nailed solid routines both scoring a 9.825. The vault team was on fire with no one scoring below a 9.8. Dani, Weedge and Shelley did awesome vaults, all scoring 9.8s. Blair and CJ both competed "moby" layout fulls scoring 9.825, and Amo rocked a layout half scoring a 9.875. The floor team worked to capture the Georgia audience's attention with awesome choreography and great performance. Everyone's tumbling was top notch with hit landings to top it off. As usual, Blair started the team off with her awesome dance and huge smile, and T followed with another awesome routine and of course huge tumbling. Amo had one of her best performances ever with both her dance and tumbling. Peach and Shelley both nailed their tumbling, and performed for both the team and the crowd. CJ closed the deal with a 9.85 routine; an awesome performance, and huge tumbling. Finally, we finished on beam with some highlight performances from Amo, CJ and Brownie with the exhibition routine.

Overall, it was a successful first meet in terms of our performances. Although we ended up only .1 behind the bulldogs, everyone did a great job of focusing on the pieces of the meet within our control. As a freshman, I couldn't have asked for a more exciting place to be for my first college meet ever. The energy was incredible, and it was amazing to see SWG compete together as such a unified force. Everyone played a role whether it was gymnastically or in other areas. I am so excited to see what we can accomplish the rest of the season. It's going to be AMAZING!!!

Keep checking in for more updates on this exciting season. GO CARD!
