Hey SWG fans!
It was our first week back together as a team after a wonderful and relaxing break. It was really great to see the girls and coaches again. We were only gone for about 10 days, but those 10 days seemed like forever. It was really nice to come back and stay at the gorgeous Stanford Terrace right by campus. Rooming with the girls was wonderful and was a great way to get back together. We had a few days of very productive practices before New Years. It wasn't long before we got back into our SWG rhythm. For New Years Eve, we had a little party with the men's gymnastics team at one of their houses which is about five minutes away from campus. It was really fun being able to hang out with the guys before watching the ball drop at midnight. On New Year's Day, Ashley and her parents invited us over to their house for a little get-together. Again, we had an amazing time hanging out with the men's team playing charades and eating delicious home-cooked food. Mmm…
Now that the holidays are over, I can say that it has been really nice to come back and practice as a team once again as we prepare for the start of our season. We have been pushing ourselves and getting mentally and physically ready for our first competition this weekend at Georgia. We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to have our first competition in Georgia with so many gymnastics fans who appreciate this sport just as much as we do. Starting off the season against the reigning NCAA champions will only show everyone who we (SWG) really are. We have been working really hard to get to where we are now, and we have absolute confidence in each other. We are truly stoked about putting it all out there on the floor when we go up against the Gymdogs. We're definitely going to show them what we've got. This is something you're not going to want to miss!!!
I just know this is going to be the start of something great!! :
Check in again next week for more exciting news. GO STANFORD!!!
