Walnut Creak, Calif. -
The Pacific-10 Conference announced the 2003 All-Conference Women's Gymnastics Team today. The All-Conference Team consists of the top six all-around competitors, plus the top three competitors in each individual event. Stanford's Natalie Foley (Englewood, CO), Lise Léveillé (Burnaby, BC) and Lindsay Wing (Cypress, TX) all received recognition.
Foley, a freshman, earned All-Conference honors for the all-around. She competed in every contest for Stanford, including the all-around in 10 meets with her best meet coming against UCLA. Foley had the meet her young career in Stanford's tie with the Bruins, setting career-high marks on vault (9.925), floor (9.950) and in the all-around (39.725). She also placed third on vault, second on bars, fifth on beam and won the floor and AA competition. Foley has three first-place and two second-place finishes in the all-around, posting scores of 39.000 or higher seven of her 10 meets.
Léveillé was also named to the all-around team, after last year earning beam accolades. The junior competed in 10 meets for Stanford in the all-around, scoring a 39.125 or higher in all 10 competitions and recorded four first-place finishes. Léveillé dominated the meet versus Arizona State, tying for first on vault (9.900), bars (9.925), beam (9.950), floor (9.950) and set a career-high in the AA with a 39.725, for a first place finish.
Wing, a junior, was an All-Pac-10 selection on beam. She was crowned the conference beam champion with a 9.975 at the Pac-10 Championships and posted the program's first perfect 10.00 on beam against Oklahoma. Wing has scored at least a 9.875 on beam on all 11 meets, and took first place eight times.
The gymnast's score it determined by a combination of 50 percent regional qualifying score (entire season composite) and 50 percent Pac-10 Conference Championships score.
Stanford will travel to Salt Lake City this weekend to compete in the North Central Regional on April 12, hosted by the University of Utah.
