STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior captain Nicole Dayton was named Pac-12 Specialist of the Week for her first-place vault that scored a 9.950 at the NorCal Quad Meet, announced by the conference Tuesday.

Dayton matched her career best - recorded during the 2012 NCAA Super Six - while anchoring a talented Stanford vault group that claimed the top-three vault scores at the meet.

Dayton's performance on vault helped lead the sixth ranked Cardinal to season opening victories over San Jose State, UC Davis and Sacramento State.

Dayton was a staple for the Cardinal on vault in 2012, competing in the event in 12 of 13 meets. She was also a member of last year's vault lineup that recorded the second-highest team score in school history (49.550).
