STANFORD, Calif. - The 15th-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team defeated California at Burnham Pavilion by posting a score of 193.450, their second highest team score of the year. With the win, the Cardinal improves to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the Pac-10. Cal fell to 5-8.
Stanford gymnasts collectively had one of their best meets of the year. The Cardinal was led by a multitude of gymnasts including freshman Jennifer Exaltacion, sophomore Sarah Harding, and sophomore Larissa Fontaine.
Exaltacion posted career-high scores of 9.800 on the bars and 9.800 on the beam while Harding posted career-high scores of 9.825 on the bars and 9.925 on the floor. Fontaine posted season-high scores of 9.900 on the vault and 9.900 on the bars.
Stanford took the top three spots on vault, floor, and beam and two of the top three spots on bars. No Stanford gymnast qualified for the all-around for the first time this season.
California was led by all-around performers Leila Khoury and Jennie Kang. Helene Kenny also placed second on bars with a score of 9.850.
Stanford's next meet is against Pac-10 rival 11th-ranked Oregon State on Friday, Febrauary 27 at 7:00 at Oregon State.
