FORT WORTH, Texas - Ashley Morgan won two events and was among three Stanford gymnasts to match the team's highest score this season during the Cardinal's victory in the three-team Metroplex Challenge at the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena on Saturday.

No. 12 Stanford (7-2) scored 196.375 points to beat Bridgeport (193.600) and Brown (191.725).

Morgan, a junior from Danville, Calif., won the uneven bars (9.875) and tied with teammate Nicole Pechanec to win the floor exercise, each with a 9.925 - a score reached only twice all season in all events for the Cardinal.

Shona Morgan, a 2008 Australian Olympian, scored a collegiate career high, also with a 9.925, to win the balance beam.

Shona Morgan was one of two from Stanford to set a career best, along with sophomore Amanda Spinner, who scored a 9.80 on the balance beam in her second collegiate meet. The two helped the beam team set a school season best of of 49.175 in the event, and the floor team scored a 49.275 for a season best there as well.

Alyssa Brown, a senior, competed on vault for the first time this season after rehabbing a shoulder injury, and scored 9.875 for second place.

In all, Stanford set two career bests, set four season bests, and tied another season best.

Stanford completes a five-meet road stretch on Friday against No. 1 Utah.
