Women's Gymnastics Celebrates Season of Accomplishments

The Cardinal women's gymnastics team had lofty goals for 2008 and accomplished many of them in an historical season that culminated in their fourth appearance at the Super Six in the past seven years. Their first back-to-back appearance in the Super Six in the program's history was one of many milestones and accomplishments. The team finished third in the country, tying the highest finish in school history and received seven All-American awards. The team also finished second at the NCAA Regional meet with a season high score of 197.525 and won their fifth Pac-10 Conference title.

Stanford Women's Gymnastics Adds Two More For Class of 2012

Stanford women's gymnastics has announced two more additions to the Class of 2012, with the additions of Jenny Peter and Allie Skoly to an already formidable class of Alyssa Brown, Catherine Nguyen, Nicole Pechanec and Lenika De Simone. The six student-athletes are expected to join Stanford women's gymnastics in the fall of 2008.

Tabitha Yim Named Honda Award Finalist

Stanford Finishes Third At Super Six
Senior Tabitha Yim was named one of the four finalists for the prestigious Honda award, as announced by Tara Grossman of Collegiate Women Sports Awards. Yim is coming off her second straight Super Six with the Cardinal and three more all-American awards. She finishes her Cardinal career with 14 all-American honors in her illustrious career.

Stanford women's gymnastics garnered seven All-American as announced at the annual NCAA Women's Gymnastics Banquet Saturday morning. Senior Tabitha Yim won three All-American honors, which gave her 14 in her distinguished Stanford career.

Complete Super Six Results
Stanford women's gymnastics equaled their highest finish in school history Friday night at the Super Six with a third place finish after a team score of 196.750. It was another team effort as the host Georgia Gym Dogs continued their strong run at home and won their fourth national championship in a row behind a team score of 197.450. The Utes of Utah finished as the runner-up for the third straight year after a mark of 197.125.

Three Cardinal Gymnasts to Compete in NCAA Individual Championships

Seven All-American Awards for SWG
While the team competition is completed for Stanford women's gymnastics, the team still has three gymnasts up for individual national titles on Saturday evening at Stegeman Coliseum. Stanford has one individual national champion in the program's history when Larissa Fonatine captured the vault title in 1998.
