TEMPE, Ariz. - Stanford's women's golf team shot a team score of 291 and are in tenth place after two rounds of the PING/ASU Invitational being held on the Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz.

Stanford's second round team score was a six stroke improvement from yesterday's opening round of 298.

Though the Cardinal trail first place Arizona State (-11: 565) by 23 strokes heading into tomorrow's final round, Stanford can set its eyes on a top-five finish with a strong round tomorrow, needing to make up seven strokes on fifth plae Arizona (581).

USC is in second place at 571 (-5) while Denver and UCLA are tied for third at 577 (+1).

Freshman Sally Watson shot an even par 72 today and is tied for 15th place, six strokes behind leader Kristine Merkle of Tulsa (-7; 137).

Rebecca Durham and Kristina Wong are tied for 37th at 148 as both players shot even par 72 in the second round.

Senior Angela King is tied for 45th at 150 (+6) after shooting a second round score of 76.

Sydney Burlison is tied for 67th at 154 (+10) after carding a 75 today.

The final round of the PING/ASU Invitational will be played tomorrow morning in Tempe.
