Stanford Prepares For Peg Barnard Collegiate: The Stanford women's golf team hosts the Peg Barnard Collegiate, April 13-14, at the Stanford Golf Course (par 72, 6,154 yards) this weekend.
The Field: This year's Peg Barnard Collegiate features 14 of the West Coast's finest teams: Stanford, Arizona State, Nevada, San Diego State, Washington, USC, Long Beach State, Santa Clara, Oregon State, California, San Jose State, Washington State, UCLA and UNLV.
Format: Eighteen holes will be played on both Saturday and Sunday with a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. The top four scores from each five-person team will count towards the team score.
Results: Results will be available at www.gostanford.com each afternoon as soon as possible.
Last Year at the Peg Barnard Collegiate: Last year, Stanford won the two-day event with a score of 595. Angela Rho tied for fifth, shooting a 149 while teammates Kim Rowton and Kim Kouwabunpat tied for 12th (152). Marica Wallis tied for 25th (157) and Jessica Belskis finished 57th (170). Oregon's Jerilyn White won individual honors, shooting an even par 144.
Last Time Out: Stanford finished sixth at the PING/ASU Invitational, shooting a three-day total of 893 to notch their fourth top 10 finish this season. Junior Kim Rowton led the Cardinal with a fifth-place finish (216). Angela Rho tied for 19th (223) and Kim Kouwabunpat tied for 31st (225). Marcia Wallis tied for 65th (233) while Wendra Liang tied for 69th (234).
Up Next: The Cardinal head to the 2002 Pac-10 Women's Golf Championships, hosted by Washington State, April 23-25.
The Last Time: The last time Stanford won the Peg Barnard Collegiate was in 2001 ... The last Cardinal player to win individual honors at the tourney was Stephanie Keever in 1999.
