Stanford, Keever Lead After First Round of Golf World Invitational
HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Stanford women's golf team is in first place at five-over par 293 after the first round of play at the GOLF WORLD/Palmetto Dunes Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C. The tournament, being played at the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall (Par 72, 6257 Yards), features seven teams currently ranked in the top 20. 1995 NCAA Champion and second-ranked Arizona is in second place at 294 while third ranked defending NCAA Champion Arizona State is third at 297.
Four Stanford golfers are in the top 25, led by freshman Stephanie Keever who is in first place individually at two-under par 70. Sophomore Jae Jean Ro is tied for third place at 73 while freshmen Hilary Homeyer and Jessica Belskis are tied for 17th at 75. Sophomore Julie Dunn is tied for 35th at 78.
The GOLF WORLD/Palmetto Dunes Invitational will continue through Sunday, Nov. 16.
