Women's Golf Moves into Top 10




May 21, 1998

MADISON, WI -- The Stanford women's golf team shot a four-over par 288 and moved into 10th place at 596 on Thursday at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships played at the University Ridge Gold Course (Par 72, 6033 Yards) in Madison, Wisc. Cardinal freshman Stephanie Keever is tied for 12th place at 145 after carding a two-under par 70 in the second round.

Arizona State leads all teams at 11-under par 565. Arizona is second at 578 while Florida is third at 581. Duke is in fourth place at 583 followed by Indiana at 587.

Grace Park of Arizona State fired a seven-under par 65 in the second round to stay on top indivually at 14-under par 130. Jennifer Rosales of USC is four strokes off the pace at 134 followed by Duke's Jenny Chausiriporn at 137. Ryley Webb is in fourth place at 138 while Kellee booth of Arizona State rounds out the top five at 139.

Stanford freshman Hilary Homeyer is tied for 29th place at 148 followed by sophomore Jae Jean Ro in 36th place at 149. Freshman Jessica Belskis is tied for 67th at 154 while sophomore Julie Dunn is tied for 87th at 158.

The 72-hole event continues through Saturday, May 28.
