TEMPE, Ariz.--The Stanford women's golf team shot a 291 in the final round of play to bring home the team title at the PING/ASU Invitational played at the Karsten Golf Course (par 72, 6101 yards) in Tempe, Ariz. Stanford carded an eight-over par 872 for the tournament. The win is the second of the season for the Cardinal, a team that is playing with three freshmen and two sophomores in its lineup. The Cardinal also won the Stanford Women's Intercollegiate in October.
Stanford freshman Hilary Homeyer recorded a 54-hole total 215. She finished second to Kellee Booth of Arizona State who defeated Homeyer in a scorecard playoff.
Stanford sophomore Julie Dunn tied for fourth place, carding a season-best 218. Sophomore Jae Jean Ro tied for 10th at 222 while freshman Stephanie Keever tied for 14th at 224. Freshman Jessica Belskis tied for 33rd at 229. Lauren Robertson, playing as an individual, tied for 57th at 235.
Stanford will host the Peg Barnard California Collegiate on April 11-12 at the Stanford Golf Course.
