Stanford Ties for Third at UCLA Classic




Feb. 25 ,1998

LOS ANGELES--The Stanford women's golf team tied for third place with a 54-hole total 604 at the UCLA Pioneer Electronic Bruin Classic played at the Menefee Lakes Country Club (Par 72, 6019 Yards). Only 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament were played due to rainy conditions on Tuesday. Stanford shot a 300 in the final round, finishing four strokes behind first place Tulsa (600). Oregon finished second at 601 while Stanford and Arizona State tied for third followed by USC (609) in fifth place.

Four Cardinal women finished in the top 25, led by freshman Jessica Belskis who finished eighth at five-over par 149. Freshman Stephanie Keever and sophomore Julie Dunn tied for 11th at 151 followed by freshman Hilary Homeyer in 25th place at 153. Sophomore Jae Jean Ro tied for 28th place at 154.

Johanna Josefsson of USC finished on top individually at 144. Isabelle Blais of Oklahoma and Stacy Rambin of Tulsa tied for second at 146.

Stanford will return to action on March 9-11 when it competes in the San Jose State Spartan Invitational on March 9-11 at the Fort Ord-Bayonet Golf Club in Monterey.
