Gandhi Named To USA Field Hockey Women's Developmental Team

Camille Gandhi has added yet another impressive honor to her international resumé, as she was recently named to the 16-member 2009-10 Women's Developmental Team by USA Field Hockey. Also, incoming freshman Emily Henriksson earned a spot in the Junior National Camp for the second straight year.

Field Hockey Wraps Up Community Service Program With BAWSI

The Stanford field hockey program recently wrapped up its latest community service activity, partnering with the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative (BAWSI). Members of this year's field hockey squad joined students from Mariano Castro Elementary School in Mountain View for community outreach activities on Fridays during the spring.

    Stanford head coach Lesley Irvine has announced the signing of six recruits to national letters of intent. The group will join the Cardinal for the 2009 campaign. The class includes: Becky Dru (Buckinghamshire, England), Julia LaSalvia (Virginia Beach, Va.), Kelsey Lloyd (Shavertown, Pa.), Emily Henriksson (Bell Canyon, Calif.), Colleen Ryan (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Alysha Sekhon (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada).

    Head coach Lesley Irvine has announced the 2009 Stanford field hockey schedule, which features a new format in conference play and five contests against NCAA Tournament squads from a year ago, including defending national champion Maryland. The 17-game regular-season schedule includes six home contests, beginning with the season opener against Missouri State on Aug. 30. Stanford will also host the 2009 NorPac Championship, which is slated for Nov. 5-7 at the Varsity Turf.

  • Stanford Field Hockey Holds Annual Awards Banquet

    The Stanford field hockey program held its annual awards banquet on Apr. 24 in front of approximately 100 people at the Stanford Stadium Skybox. Camille Gandhi was selected as the Most Valuable Player, Hillary Braun was named the Most Inspirational Player and Midori Uehara received her second consecutive Most Improved Award.

  • 2009 Schedule
    Stanford and California will square off in a scrimmage on Sunday, Apr. 19, at 1 p.m. at the Varsity Turf. Stanford finished 9-11 overall in 2008, advancing to the NCAA Play-in game for the second straight season. The Cardinal was also crowned NorPac Tournament champions for the second year in a row and won seven of its final nine games to close out the season.
