STANFORD, Calif.- Junior Becky Dru has been named a 2011 Longstreth/NFHCA All-American, becoming the 14th player in school history to earn the national honor.
Dru was named to the 16-player First Team.
Meanwhile, Dru was also honored as the Longstreth/NFHCA West Region Player of the Year. The West Region comprises schools such as California, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, Louisville, Northwestern and Michigan State.
Honored as the NorPac Defensive Player of the Year and NorPac Co-Player of the Year, Dru started all 21 games and finished with team-leading totals in goals (16), points (39), shots (91) and shots on goal (50). A NorPac All-Tournament Team selection, Dru's 16 goals represented a career-high total and her 39 points were the most for a Cardinal player since Sara Hallock's 52 in 1993. Additionally, Dru become Stanford's first leading goal scorer in back-to-back seasons since Jess Zutz accomplished the feat in 2006-07.
