STANFORD, Calif.- Sophomores Camille Gandhi (London, England) and Xanthe Travlos (Staffordshire, England) have been named 2008 Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region selections, as announced today by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Gandhi was awarded a spot on the 16-player First Team while Travlos garnered Second Team accolades.

Gandhi was named the 2008 NorPac Player of the Year, collecting Stanford's first such honor since Michelle Scott in 2000. The 2007 NorPac Rookie of the Year led the Cardinal in assists (10) and shot attempts (54). She also scored four goals for a total of 18 points in 18 games, including the game-winner in Stanford's 2-1 victory over No. 16 California in the NorPac Tournament championship game. The honor is even more impressive considering Gandhi missed two games in early October as she led the USA U-21 National Team to a gold medal at the 2008 Junior Pan American Games in Mexico City.

Tabbed to the All-West Region squad for the second straight year, Travlos also earned All-NorPac First Team honors for the second consecutive season. Travlos recorded six goals and four assists for a total of 16 points this year in 17 contests. She had one game-winning goal to her credit and ranked second on the club with 40 shot attempts.

Stanford finished 9-11 overall this year, advancing to the NCAA Play-in game for the second straight season. The Cardinal was also crowned NorPac Tournament champions for the second year in a row.
