Stanford To Honor Local First Response Units On Sunday

The No. 16 Stanford field hockey program will honor local first response units at halftime of Sunday's 1 p.m. game against No. 18 Northeastern at the Varsity Turf, in recognition of the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of Sept. 11.

STANFORD, Calif.- The No. 16 Stanford field hockey program will honor local first response units at halftime of Sunday's 1 p.m. game against No. 18 Northeastern at the Varsity Turf, in recognition of the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of Sept. 11.

There will also be a moment of silence prior to the contest and first responders will be invited onto the field at halftime to be recognized for their dedication in serving the community.

The Stanford University Athletics Department and the field hockey program would like to ac-knowledge and offer its deepest gratitude to members of the Stanford and Palo Alto Police and Fire Departments, and to members of the Stanford Emergency Medical Service (STEMS) for their continued dedication in serving the needs of our community.

Stanford is now 4-1 following a 3-2 victory over No. 19 Indiana on Friday night.
