Stanford Field Hockey Defeats Drexel, 1-0
STANFORD, Ca. - Stanford field hockey defeated Drexel University, 1-0, today in the
team's home opener. The Cardinal improved its record to 1-2 on the season, while the
Dragons fell to 1-2.
Stanford's Paige Mader scored the Cardinal's lone goal off an assist by Michelle Scott
with 19:00 minutes remaining in the first half. The Dragons kept Stanford scoreless
in the second half, despite nine shots on goal coming in the second.
The Cardinal's next game is against Syracuse at Cal at 3:00 pm on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Stanford does not return home until Oct. 11.
