Stanford Beats Ball State, 3-1
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - St. Louis has been good to Monique Leroux.
Returning recently from a stint with the Junior World Team, the junior forward scored two goals in a Cardinal win against Ball State 3-1. Wednesday was her first game back, and the native of Paxton, Maryland had the first goal of a 3-0 rout of St. Louis.
Leroux scored the first goal of the game again on Saturday, when she found the back of the cage at 21:28. Paige Mader had the assist, then Mallory Chambers set her up again at 25:02 of the second half. Carey Cloyd took one shot in the game and made it count, scoring the Cardinal's final goal with ten minutes to play. Shawna Brown scored the lone goal for Ball State with 4:45 left to play.
Ball State outshot the Cardinal 16-8, but Stanford senior goalie Kelly Naylor shut them down with 11 saves. Stanford improves to 4-3 on the year and finish up their four game stand in St. Louis against Miami (Ohio) on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
