Kelsey Harbin scored her second straight game-winning goal to lead No. 16 Stanford past No. 10 Iowa 3-2 on Friday afternoon in another battle of nationally-ranked teams at the Varsity Turf.
The Stanford field hockey program was recently awarded team and individual honors as part of the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
2012: NFHCA All-Academic honoree ... competed in all 23 games, starting the first nine games of the year ... contributed three assists overall, in games against La Salle (Aug. 24), Iowa (Sept. 7) and UC Davis (Oct. 5) ... attempted three shots, two of which came against UC Davis (Oct. 5).
2011: NFHCA All-Academic selection ... competed in all 21 games as a reserve ... attempted five shots, all of which were on goal ... made collegiate debut against Hofstra (Aug. 27), coming off the bench ... recorded first career shot attempt against UC Davis (Sept. 25) ... scored first career goal in a win over UC Davis (Oct. 21).
High School: Three-year letterwinner and team captain as a senior ... member of three regional and section championship squads ... led team to a state championship in 2008 and state finalist appearances in 2009 and 2010 ... NSCAA High School All-Region pick last year ... 2010 All-State honoree ... also voted team MVP during her senior season.
