Under-23 Championships Results

TRAKAI, Lithuania - Junior women's rower Daphne Martschenko advanced to the Championship Final with the U.S. women's four at the World Rowing Under-23 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania Thursday.

After finishing third in its preliminary heat Wednesday, the U.S. four made good on its second chance Wednesday, finishing second in the repechage to claim the final spot in Friday's final.

Martschenko and the U.S. crossed the line in a time of 6:46.17, holding off Germany by 2.41 seconds to claim the finals berth. New Zealand captured the repechage with a time of 6:40.83.

The U.S. and New Zealand enter Friday's final, joined by Russia, Romania, Canada and Australia, boats that qualified through Wednesday's preliminary heats.
