STANFORD, Calif. - U.S. rower and recent Stanford graduate Elle Logan '11 added more gold to her personal stash over the past two weekends, capturing gold medals with the U.S. Quad Sculls at the Henley Royal Regatta two weeks ago then again with the U.S. Eight at the 2011 Samsung World Cup Sunday.

At Henley, Logan and the U.S. Quad Sculls boat advanced through the bracket and defeated the "B" entry from the Australian Institute of Sport in the final to capture the Princess Grace Challenge Cup.

At the World Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland, Logan and the U.S. Eight thrilled the crowd with a come-from-behind effort in the championship final to nip Canada just before the line for the gold.

The Canadian crew led from the starting blocks and held the first-place position over the first three-quarters of the course. The U.S. was in third after the opening 500 meters, but picked off the Dutch crew before the halfway point. With 500 meters to go, the U.S. was just under two seconds back of the Canadians.

Coming into the last hundred meters, the U.S. closed the gap with Canada, finally pulling past the boat and finishing just over a second ahead of the Canadian crew with a final time of 6:28.35 at the line to Canada's 6:29.41.

Logan and the U.S. team will now go into a final selection for the 2011 World Championships, set to be held in Bled, Slovenia in August.
