    Stanford women's basketball will be well-represented at the 2009 World University Games as USA Basketball on Monday announced its 12-member roster for the tournament. Forward Kayla Pedersen and guard Jeanette Pohlen each earned a spot on the roster, with Pedersen joining her third USA Basketball squad in four years and Pohlen making her first USA Basketball roster.

  • Jennifer Azzi Inducted Into Women's Basketball Hall Of Fame Saturday

    Jennifer Azzi, Stanford women's basketball's first national and conference player of the year and WBCA/Kodak All-American, was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in a ceremony in Knoxville, Tenn. Saturday night. She becomes Stanford's second representative in the Hall, joining head coach Tara VanDerveer, who was inducted in 2002.

    Five Stanford Players Named Finalists For USA Basketball National Teams

    All five Stanford women's basketball players invited to the USA Basketball trials camps this weekend were named finalists for their respective teams, USA Basketball announced Sunday. Freshmen Sarah Boothe and Nnemkadi Ogwumike were among the 14 finalists named for the USA Women's U19 World Championship Team, while junior Jayne Appel and sophomores Kayla Pedersen and Jeanette Pohlen were among the 14 finalists named for the 2009 USA Women's World University Games Team.

    Stanford Completes Memorable 2008-09 Season

    The 2008-09 Stanford women's basketball team concluded a successful season that saw it ring up a 33-5 overall record (the eighth 30-win season in program history), make its eighth appearance in the Final Four, and capture the 18th Pac-10 regular-season title in school history. The Cardinal's 17-1 conference mark was once again tops in the standings, and Stanford captured the double for the sixth time in the last eight years, winning the Pac-10 Tournament on top of its regular-season crown.
