STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's sibling duo of Nnemkadi and Chiney Ogwumike were among the 51 players named to the Naismith Trophy early-season watch list, the Atlanta Tip-Off Club announced Wednesday.

With Wednesday's announcement, the Ogwumikes are on the watch lists for three major national player of the year awards, as they were both named candidates for the Wade Trophy and John R. Wooden Award during the preseason.

Stanford is one of 11 schools to have multiple candidates on the list.

Nnemkadi Ogwumike is currently second in the nation in scoring with 25.8 points per game. Her 11.3 rebounds per game have her averaging a double-double and she is shooting 60.0 percent from the field through Stanford's first five games.

Sophomore Chiney Ogwumike is nearly averaging a double-double of her own with 14.6 points and 9.8 rebounds heading into tonight's contest against UC Davis.

Together, the sisters have helped lead the fifth-ranked Cardinal to a 4-1 start in 2011-12 as the squad aims for its third national title and a fifth straight trip to the Final Four.

The Naismith Trophy candidate list will be whittled down to 30 names in late February, then will be further narrowed down to four finalists in March. The 2012 Naismith Trophy will be awarded at the Final Four in Denver.
