STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's basketball's 2012-13 opener Friday night against Fresno State will be full of celebration and recognition, offering a memorable night for Cardinal fans.

The event will feature a halftime recognition of military veterans in honor of Veteran's Day this Sunday, Nov. 11.

As a special thank you to those who serve and have served the United States, all veterans and active military personnel can claim two free tickets with valid military ID at the Maples Pavilion Ticket Office on Friday. The ticket office opens at 5:30 p.m.

All veterans and active military personnel are also invited to participate in a special halftime on-court recognition Friday night. To participate, servicemembers may assemble behind section 7 on the Maples Pavilion concourse with five minutes remaining in the first half.

The Cardinal will also pay tribute to the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants Friday night. The celebration of the Giants' second world title in three years will include a special video presentation of the team's championship run as well as a visit from popular Giants mascot Lou Seal.
