Road To The Final Four

NORFOLK, Va. - Stanford Women's Basketball took off on the first leg of it's NCAA Tournament journey Thursday, and The Cardinal Channel and GoStanford.com will be along for the ride to chronicle "Destination: Denver," the Cardinal's hunt for a third national title and fifth straight Final Four appearance in Denver.

Daily recaps of "Destination: Denver" will be posted to GoStanford.com and fans may also view the videos through The Cardinal Channel's YouTube channel (www.thecardinalchannel.com) as well as Stanford Women's Basketball's Facebook page and on Twitter (@StanfordWBB).

Senior guard Grace Mashore, a native of Washington, D.C., just four hours north of Norfolk, checked in with the Cardinal Channel for a recap of the day's travel.

The Cardinal took off on the first leg of its journey Thursday, chartering a flight from San Jose to its first destination, Norfolk, Va. A boisterous, excitable 10:30 a.m. bus ride from Maples Pavilion led to Norman Mineta International Airport in San Jose, where the team's charter went wheels up at 1 p.m.

Joined by the Leland Stanford, Jr. University Marching Band, the Cardinal players, coaches, staff and administrators made the three-and-a-half hour flight to Oklahoma City, where the plane refueled before continuing on to Norfolk.

The travel party made a late touchdown in Virginia, and made it to the team hotel just past 11 p.m. ET. A late dinner for the team followed, as the team prepared to acclimate to the time change before Friday's 2 p.m. ET media session at Old Dominion's Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Stanford, the top seed in the Fresno Region, will take on 16th-seeded Hampton Saturday at 10:30 a.m. PT from the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk.
