The Stanford women make their first Pac-12 trip out to the cold and snow of Utah and Colorado
Jan. 26, 2012
STANFORD, Calif. - After taking some time to attend to the busniness at hand during the Holiday season, such as going 11-0 on the court, storming out to an 8-0 start in Pac-12 play and getting some valuable time to recharge at home for the Holidays, the Real Ladies of Maples are back with Episode Four of their behind-the-scenes series!
In this episode, the ladies prepare for their first Pac-12 road trip to the newest members of the conference, Utah and Colorado. With the weather still holding strong in the 60s with plenty of sunshine in California, the ladies react to the prospect of traveling into the winter cold, snow and near-freezing January temperatures of Salt Lake City and Boulder.
Against this backdrop, the Cardinal players break up into "Team Hot" (players hailing from warm-weather hometowns and regions) and "Team Cold" (players hailing from cold-weather locales). "Team Hot" members such as Sara James (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) and Bonnie Samuelson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) share their thoughts on leaving the warmer California climate, while "Team Cold" members like Joslyn Tinkle (Missoula, Mont.) and Toni Kokenis (Oak Brook, Ill.) share memorable stories from their childhoods growing up in the snow and cold during winter.
Additionally, the team takes full advantage of being in Colorado during the thrilling playoff run of the Denver Broncos and their popular quarterback, Tim Tebow. Could the Cardinal have taken a page out of the QB's playbook and tried some "Tebow-ing" to help its chances in the game against Colorado?
