STANFORD, Calif. (AP) -- Olympia Scott scored 18 points, and No. 15 Stanford
opened conference play by beating Oregon State 93-66 Friday night for its 57th
straight win at home over a Pac-10 opponent.

Kristin Folkl, in just her second game since rejoining the team after helping
Stanford's volleyball squad to a second straight NCAA championship, had 12
points and 10 rebounds.
Monica Watts' 21 points led Oregon State (5-5, 0-1), which remained winless in
12 games at Maples Pavilion. Nicole McAllister had 13 points and Vanessa Morris
12.
Up by seven at halftime, Stanford broke it open with a 20-4 run to go in front
70-47 with 9:10 remaining. Scott's three-point play capped the flurry that also was
highlighted by a series of fastbreaks finishing in easy baskets by Flores, Folkl and
Regan Freuen.
After shooting 50 percent in the first half, the Beavers went cold in the second,
making just 31 percent of their shots from the floor and couldn't contend with the
Cardinal, who converted 54 percent of their shots.
Stanford broke out on top 14-3 but Oregon State settled down and worked its way
back into the game. McAllister hit a baseline jumper to start a 7-0 burst that pulled
the Beavers within 37-30.
Freuen connected on a 3-pointer for Stanford with 1:41 remaining in the first half
before Oregon State closed by scoring five of the next seven points to trail 44-37 at
halftime.
