Stanford Routs USF, 101-54
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Olympia Scott scored 31 points to lead five players in double
figures as 10th-ranked Stanford picked up their first victory in
three tries this season with a 101-54 rout of San Francisco.
Scott, who connected on 14-of-18 shots from the field, scored 12
of her points in the first half, leading the Cardinal to a 45-20
halftime advantage.
Stanford began the game on a 12-2 run that was capped by Milena
Flores' layup with 15:34 to go in the first half.
Heather Owen added 13 points and freshman Melody Peterson
chipped in with 12 and six assists for the Cardinal, who shot 59
percent (42-of-71) from the field and forced 34 turnovers.
Denise Woods led San Francisco with 16 points on 6-of-9
shooting. Jennifer Madkins added 15 points for the Lady Dons,
who shot 38 percent (19-for-49) from the floor.
