In the men's discus, Robertson finished with a throw of 202-2 ¾, which was not enough to qualify for the final. Robertson, a former NCAA Champion at Stanford was competing in his first Olympics.

Robertson (200407) will be competing in his first Olympics for the United States...He finished his collegiate career as one of the top throwers in the Stanford's history...He was the 2005 NCAA Champion in the discus...He currently holds the Stanford school record of 210-01 in the discus...Robertson qualified for the Olympics by placing second at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the discus with a throw of 209-01.
