In the qualifying rounds of the women's long jump, King of Bermuda leaped 19-8 ¾, but did not qualify for the final. King, who recently finished her freshman season for the Cardinal, was competing in her first Olympic Games.

King just completed her freshman season at Stanford will be competing in the Olympics for Bermuda for the first time...In 2008 she was an NCAA qualifier, indoors in the long jump. During the outdoor season she finished fourth in the long jump at the Pac-10 Championships...She was taken as the at-large female track and field athlete by the Bermuda Olympic Committee.
