STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 16 Stanford wrestling team will have a busy weekend, starting with its final home dual of the season on Friday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. versus Utah Valley. The Cardinal (8-6, 3-1 Pac-12) and Wolverines (3-7) will square off in Burnham Pavilion.
Prior to the dual with Utah Valley, Stanford will honor its three seniors including top-ranked Nick Amuchastegui. Kyler Hasson and Matt Sencenbaugh, both redshirt juniors, will also be suiting up for the final time at home.
Stanford is looking to bounce back from a 22-14 loss to No. 13 Oregon State last week. Highlighting the dual for the Cardinal was a 19-3 technical fall by Amuchastegui over Cody Weishoff at 174 pounds. The senior remains undefeated for Stanford at 16-0 overall and 13-0 in duals. The win was the 110th of his career, tying him with former Cardinal All-American Zack Giesen for fourth on Stanford's career wins list.
Junior Spence Patrick also picked up a victory in dramatic fashion for Stanford. Trailing Ty Vinson in the third period, Patrick picked up a 6-4 overtime victory. He recorded the final takedown of the bout in the first nine seconds of the extra period. He improved to 15-9 overall and 11-3 in duals.
Also scoring points for the Cardinal against the Beavers was junior Ryan Mango and redshirt sophomore Bret Baumbach. Mango, ranked sixth nationally, wrestled for the first time this season down a weight at 125 pounds. He leads the team with 23 wins (14-0 in duals) and five falls this year. Baumbach stands at 8-8 overall and 5-2 in duals at 165 pounds.
Utah Valley is looking to snap a five-match losing streak. The Wolverines will face Cal Poly prior to its dual with Stanford. The teams will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion. Leading the Wolverines is junior 149-pounder Josh Wilson, ranked No. 12 in the nation.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, Stanford will compete in the California Collegiate Open hosted by San Francisco State University. representing the Cardinal will be Hasson, redshirt freshman

Stanford will wrap-up the weekend at Pac-12 foe Arizona State on Sunday, Feb. 5. The Cardinal and Sun Devils will meet at 12 p.m. MT in Wells Fargo Arena. ASU is 6-10 overall and 2-2 Pac-12. Leading the Sun Devils this season is junior heavyweight Levi Cooper, ranked No. 11 nationally. He is the only ASU wrestler with 20 or more wins this season.
Following this weekend's action, Stanford will have three weeks to prepare of the Pac-12 Conference tournament. Hosted by Boise State University, the championships will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26 in Taco Bell Arena.
