San Francisco State Beats Stanford, 23-15
STANFORD, CA -- San Francisco State (1-1) scored 19 unanswered points to post a come-from-behind 23-15 win over Stanford (0-3) on Tuesday night at Burnham Pavilion. The Gators won the final five matches of the evening to erase a 15-4 deficit.
The Cardinal's Zach Zimmerer (Billings, MT/Billings Central HS) recorded a pin at 126 pounds to help the hosts reel off four straight victories. But the Gators, the 1996 NCAA Division II champions, came all the way back to clinch the match on Chris Delgado's (Gilroy, CA/Gavilan JC) win at 190 pounds.
Stanford returns to action on December 5-6 when it participates in the 40-team Las Vegas Invitational.
