FULLERTON, Calif. - FULLERTON, CA --- Senior Jeff Grant (Albany, OR/South Albany HS) and sophomore Zach Zimmerer (Billings, MT/Billings Central HS) finished second at 126 and 167 pounds, respectively, at the 1998 Pac-10 Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Cal State Fullerton.
Both Grant and Zimmerer qualified for the 1998 NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio on March 19-21 by virtue of their top three finish. In addition, junior Beau Weiner (Placerville, CA/Ponderosa HS), who finished fifth, was selected to be the first alternate in the 142-pound class at the NCAA Championships.
The Cardinal finished sixth out of nine schools in the team competition with 62.0 points. The finish is Stanford's highest since it placed fifth in 1995.
