The 2002 NCAA Champions will be highlighted on a CBS special.

The 2002 NCAA Fall Championships show, which will highlight Stanford winning its tenth men's water polo crown, will air Saturday, December 28th on CBS at 10 a.m. (Pacific Time). The Cardinal posted a 7-6 victory over California as Stanford claimed its second consecutive NCAA title and its first under head coach John Vargas.

The Cardinal posted a 24-5 record en route to the Championship. Sophomore Tony Azevedo, the NCAA Tournament MVP, posted another record-braking season with 95 goals while senior Nick Ellis closed out his collegiate campaign with 714 career saves, including seven in his final contest against the Golden Bears. Each member of the 2002 Cardinal squad saw time in the Tournament as Stanford defeated UC San Diego 10-5 in the Semfinals to advance to the finals against California.

The show will feature championships across the three divisions and will also include highlights from volleyball, cross country, soccer and field hockey.
