You know, it was a hard game. I thought the guys were going to come out a little flatter, but they came out on fire. I was really proud of them. Everyone on the team showed up ready to play. Before the game I was a little unsure, but they proved that they were ready to go and that they were capable of playing good water polo all weekend. I think our guys really stuck together and recovered nicely after yesterday's loss. It was a pretty tough loss for them, but they stuck together and did a really nice job.

On building for next year after taking home the 3rd place trophy...

We've gotten great experience. of the reasons that we took Stanford to the limit is our experience in the NCAA championships this is our sixth trip here and we have guys who are real motivated and real committed. We'll come back and make another run at it.

On team's performance throughout the NCAA Championships...

We started out great and went downhill. I thought we were playing one of our better games of the year last night. Today, whatever needed to go wrong went wrong. We just got shellacked.

On learning from this year, particularly playing USC, one of the best team's of the year, and building for next year...

There won't be any hangovers. We are going to get back to work after the kids get back from Christmas. There won't be any lingering effects. But that was a tough way to end our season. It got away from us early and we never got back.

On Kyle Wertz' performance...

I'm glad he's coming back. He's got some work to do at the defensive end. He's got some work to do getting stronger but we wouldn't be here without him.

On his performance and the Championships...

It was a lot of hard work over the season. It really paid off. It's a great group of guys to play with. Practices are really nice. It was just hard work leading up to this.

On building for next year...

We have a lot of guys, sophomores who are playing. I really think next year and the few years after that, we have a lot of potential. We are not there yet, but we have a lot of potential. We can definitely come and do a better job. Hopefully we make it back here next year and keep building up.
