The MPSF match is set to start Saturday, October 8, at 12:00noon. Third-ranked Stanford beat the Pacific Tigers in their last matching at Stanford, just over one week ago, 14-4. The Cardinal (7-2) travels to Pacific (7-5) looking to regroup after a tough loss to the top-ranked Cal last weekend.
Stanford's top scorer Thomas Hopkins has 22 goals, followed by Peter Varellas and William Hindle-Katel with 18 each. Hopkins' 2.44 goal/game average ranks him third in the MPSF, Varellas and Hindle-Katel are tied for seventh. Hindle-Katel is the only freshman in the top thirty scoring leaders in the MPSF. Top Stanford goalie Sandy Hohener's 6.71 saves/game average places him fifth.
Pacific leading scorer Will McLaughlin has 16 goals this season with Kenny Yamamoto closely following at 15. Star goalie Marko Popovic is the top-ranked goalie in the MPSF for saves/game with an 8.83 average (106 saves).
Stanford returns home for the Alumni game this Sunday, October 9, at 11:00AM. The next MPSF match is at Stanford on October 14, against Loyola Marymount University.
