Stanford, Calif. - The three-time All-American goalkeeper for the top-ranked Cardinal, senior Nick Ellis (Santa Ana, CA/Foothill), was named MPSF Mikasa Player of the Week after the Cardinal posted five victories and claimed the SoCal Championship this weekend.

Ellis posted 32 saves in the five games as the Cardinal downed No. 8 UC San Diego (twice), No. 3 UC Irvine, No. 4 California and No. 10 Long Beach State. He allowed only 22 goals as the Cardinal defeated the four top-ten teams. Ellis recorded a season-high nine saves in the 8-7 victory over California in the SoCal semifinal match, including three 6-on-5 attempts by the Golden Bears.

Ellis will be back in the net on Saturday as the Cardinal take on UC Santa Barbara at noon at the Avery Aquatic Center.
