Stanford, Ca - Will Hindle-Katel and James Sandman, two of the nation's top high school water polo seniors, have signed national letters of intent to play water polo at Stanford University.
Hindle-Katel and Sandman will enroll in the Fall of 2005.
Hindle-Katel is currently attending The Harvard-Westlake School in Thousand Oaks, Ca. The 6-foot-5, 205 pound senior has gained numerous awards during his tenure at Harvard-Westlake. Hindle-Katel is currently a member of the United States Youth Team, and a two-time MVP (2003, 2004) at the National Age Group Chanpionships. Hindle-Katel also gained MVP honors at the 2001 Junior Olympics. Hindle-Katel also was a member of the 2003 USA National Cadet team.
Sandman is attending The Menlo School in Menlo Park, Ca where the 6-foot-5, 200-pound goalkeeper has been a member of the USA National Cadet and Youth teams. In 2003, Sandman was named a National Age Group and NISCA High School All-American. Sandman also won Central Coast Section Player of the Year honors in 2003.
"I feel very fortune that we are able to get two outstanding prospects, Jimmie Sandman and Will Hindle-Katie," said Cardinal head coach John Vargas. "Both Jimie and Will are incredible athletes who will contribute to our program immediately."
