Recap: Tony Azevedo scored three goals to lead the field, as Stanford
won the MPSF Championship over UCLA 7-6, tonight at the Avery Aquatic
Center. Azevedo fired in the game-winner with 3:27 left in the match
to reclaim the lead, but Stanford kept the high intensity defense
going as keeper Chad Taylor posted four of his eight saves in the
final period. UCLA goalie Joseph Axelrad did his best to keep the
Bruins in range, recording six of his 13 saves in the fourth quarter,
but the neither squad could convert in the last three minutes and
Stanford secured the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
