WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -
Stanford will play in the first men's volleyball match shown on the Pac-12 Networks and will appear on television four times this season.
The Cardinal will play USC in the network debut match, on Jan. 18 (6 p.m.) at the Trojans' Galen Center.
Other televised matches will be on Jan. 22 (7 p.m.), when Stanford plays host to UCLA; on March 3 (7 p.m.), when Stanford plays host to USC; and March 10 (TBD) when the Cardinal plays at UCLA.
Stanford is coming off one of its best seasons, finishing with a No. 3 ranking after finishing second in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and reaching the MPSF tournament final. Stanford finished 22-7 overall and its 17-5 conference record was the team's best since 1997.
Stanford graduated three All-Americans, but returns all-conference players Brian Cook, Steven Irvin, and Eric Mochalski. Plus, the Cardinal brings in a top recruiting class featuring U.S. junior national team setter James Shaw, the son of former Stanford men's coach Don Shaw.
