Stanford, Calif. -- The Stanford men's volleyball team dropped one position, to No. 13, in the USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 15 rankings released today. The Cardinal lost to top-ranked UCLA, 3-0, and then-No. 8 BYU, 3-0, last week for a 2-2 season record.
The Cardinal received 44 votes in the latest poll, trailing top-ranked UCLA, which received 238 votes, including 14 first place ballots.
Of the AVCA top 15, 11 are opponents of Stanford in 2000 and 10 are members of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
Stanford began the season with wins over UC San Diego, 3-0, and San Diego State, 3-0, which pushed the Cardinal into a tie with UC Irvine for No. 12 in the rankings last week.
The Cardinal will travel to No. 2 Long Beach State on Friday before facing No. 5 Southern California on Saturday.
