Stanford, Calif. — The Stanford men’s volleyball team moved into a tie with UC Irvine at No. 12 in the latest USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 15 released today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Cardinal received 56 votes in the latest rankings.
Stanford had been ranked No. 14 in the preseason poll released on January 10.
The Cardinal opened the season with victories over UC San Diego (15-3, 15-10, 15-3) and San Diego State (15-11, 15-5, 15-11) last week and will face defending NCAA champion BYU and top-ranked UCLA at home this week. Stanford takes on BYU on Wednesday, Jan. 19 and the Bruins on Saturday, Jan. 22. Both matches begin at 7 p.m.
