Stanford, Calif. - Andy Witt collected a match-high 27 kills, but it wasn't enough as seventh-ranked Long Beach State defeated sixth-ranked Stanford in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball match Friday evening at Burnham Pavilion.

Keenan Whitehurst added 17 kills and a .565 hitting percentage, but Stanford fell to 13-7 overall and 11-6 in the conference.

Gaby Amar collected 21 kills for the 49ers, while Matt Prosser added 14. The Long Beach victory upped its season record to 17-6 overall and 9-6 in the MPSF.

Stanford hosts USC on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Burnham Pavilion.
