2000 Track & Field Season (Freshman): Gained entry into the NCAA’s with a time of 3:43.1 in the 1,500 meters … Ran the 5,000 meters at the Pacific-10 Championships with an eighth place time of 14:18.75 … In the summer of 2000, he lowered his time to 3:40.65 in the 1,5000 meters, narrowly missing a spot at the U.S. Olympic Trials … His time in the 1,500 meters is second-best for a freshman all-time at Stanford and fifth-best overall in the school history … Finished the year ranked 21st in the United States.
