2000 Track & Field Season (Freshman): Finished the year as the #1-ranked 10,000 meter freshman in the NCAA … His time of 28:54.30 is the third fastest ever by an American Junior and ranks seventh all-time at Stanford … Competed in the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Duke at 10,000 meters where he helped Stanford capture its first NCAA track title in 66 years … Finished third at 10,000 meters at the Pac-10 Championships in Eugene … Captured the 5,000 meter title at the U.S. Track & Field Junior Championships in Denton, TX to earn a berth at the World Junior Track & Field Championships in Santiago, Chile.
