Stanford: A member of the U.S. Junior National Track & Field, and Cross Country teams, this redshirt freshman will be a great contributor in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters in the spring of 2001.
2000 Track & Field Season: Redshirted … However, did compete at the 2000 U.S. Junior National Championships, and won the 10,000 meters (31:45.48) in hot, humid Denton, Texas … Also finished second in the 5,000 meters (14:54.14) … He set a personal best of 14:19.68 to qualify to represent the United States in the World Junior Track & Field Championships in Santiago, Chile.
2000 Cross Country Season (Freshman): Ran in five races during the season, including a second place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational.
1999 Cross Country Season: Redshirted, but competed for the U.S. at the World Junior Cross Country Championships in Portugal.
High School: Enjoyed a highly productive running career at Los Altos High School … Central Coast Section (CCS) Runner of the Year in his senior season … During his senior cross country season, won a string of seven straight races … That included victories at the Stanford Invitational and at the Mt. Sac Sweepstakes … CCS champion in cross country … Finished third in the state meet during his senior season … Ran 14:52 over 5,000 meters.
